We are pleased to present the workshop and dramatised reading: ‘What daggers did I not see in my breast?’ This project involves the creation and staging of a dramatised reading aimed at raising awareness of gender-based violence through the spoken word and dramatic literature. It has been funded using grants received from the Ministry of Equality, the State Secretariat for Equality and against Gender-Based Violence, as part of the State Pact on Gender-Based Violence.
During the various sessions, we will engage in collective reflection through theatre, poetry and critical thinking, enabling us to approach gender-based violence from a human, emotional and cultural perspective. A journey exploring inequality, violence, silencing and the various forms of female resistance throughout history.
The workshop will culminate in a final performance in which the various voices engage in dialogue with one another and with the present day, highlighting how many of the issues denounced over the centuries remain deeply relevant today.
We encourage you to take part in this fascinating workshop, which will be led by the playwright, actress and director Mafalda Bellido.
